A first time for everything!

I think there truly is a first time for everything!
The reason I say that is because yesterday I finally got my hands dirty and played a rousing game of golf. I never intended on playing but for weeks my buddy Brad had been trying to get me out to a game, and yesterday was the Faith River golf tourniment and one of the player's in Brad's group cancelled so they needed someone to fill in. So I said I would fill in.
I was feeliing good on the practice green, even though I was using an antique putter. I swear this putter was probly the first one in existence, but i guess I had to make it work. So anyway I was first to tee off. After my two practice swings, it took me five additional swings to hit the ball, not bad! I kept it under ten at least. So all in all I think it was a good game, I put it in the drink three times, and in the sand twice. Actually I had a decent shot out of the sand onto the green.
What really made my day was on the last hole, where I tee'd off and after some concentration, and practice swings I hit it! After I hit it all I could hear were my friends hooting and holloring! Well maybe not that much hooting but there was some holloring. Needless to say I was very pleased with the shot. And to end off the tournament Brad sunk a sweet putt.
So We finished the tournament dead last, but we had a lot of fun. And hey Brad, and Paul won some prizes.
So in concluding I want to say thanks to Brad, Jeff, and Paul for letting me be apart of the team. Thanks boys.

Kent - I totally agree with you about the first time for everything. I never thought I would EVER enjoy golf. Can't say I necessarily enjoy it now either lol, but I go. I even invested in a set of clubs this summer as we went golfing with work functions like crazy. I some what like it, but i hate loosing balls and we 99% of the time walk the course so looking for balls takes that much longer, so either I don't or get frustrated that I'm holding people up sometimes. I do enjoy it. My last round I golfed the balls were flying in the air!! (for the FIRST time!!) It was exciting, however they were not overly straight anymore! Glad to see you had fun! Much different than soccer. Feet remain relatively still and its all in the shoulder and upper body.. ugg. haha!
